Day 1 Izmir
Flights to Izmir. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi or Izmir.
Day 2 Izmir - Ayvalik
Driving by or through Smyrna (Rev. 1:11; 2,8-11) to Pergamum (Rev. 1:11; 2,12-17). In Smyrna, we visit the ancient agora of the settlement, and the Polycarp Church. Polycarp regarded as apostolic Krchenvater and served as bishop of Smyrna. Then we drive to Pergamum and visit the Acropolis, the restored altar is seen today in Berlin. Two nights accommodation in Ayvalik.
Day 3 Ayvalik - Assos
On this day we take a trip to Assos (Acts 20,13-14) and here to visit the Doric Temple of Athena, which offers a beautiful sea view. Then we drive to Alexandria Troas (Acts 16:8-11; 20,5-6, 2 Corinthians 2:12; 2 Timothy 4:13) and thus follow in the footsteps of Apostle Paul.
Day 4 Ayvalik - Pamukkale
In the morning we drive to Thyatira (Rev. 1:11; 2,18-29) and visit the remnants of the ancient settlement. Then it's on to Sardis (Rev. 1:11; 3,1-6), where we are the temple of Artemis, which will visit synagogue and the gymnasium. In Philadelphia (Rev. 1:11; 3,7-13), we make a short stop and see the ruins of St. John Church. Two nights accommodation in Pamukkale Thermal Hotel with a chance to swim.
Day 5 Pamukkale
Morning visit of Laodicea (Rev. 1:11; 3,14-22) with the ruins of the Agora. Then we visit a typical carpet weaving in the region, where we learn about the colorful world of carpets. In the afternoon we enjoy the beauty of a natural wonder. Pamukkale, with its sinter terraces is an unusual natural phenomenon that should not be missed. Here lie the ruins of Hierapolis (Col. 4:13). A church was built in the Byzantine period in Hierapolis exactly at the spot where St. Philip was stoned. The ruins of the church we see today among the other attractions such as the vast necropolis, the great theater and great bathing. The Church Father Papias of Hierapolis worked here as a bishop.
Day 6 Pamukkale - Kusadasi
Today we drive meanders through the fertile plain to the west. In Miletus (Acts 20.15; visit 20,17; 2 Timothy 4:20) we are the big theater, the baths and the harbor. The Market Gate of Miletus is also in Berlin at the Pergamon Museum. The sons of the city are major Thales, Anaximander, Anaximenes and Hippodamus. Didyma is then inspected with the monumental temple of Apollo. The temple was once the most important oracle at Delphi. Two nights in Kusadasi area.
Day 7 Kusadasi
After breakfast we drive to Ephesus (Apg.18, 19-24, 19, 20,16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:32; 16.8; Ephesians letter, 1 Timothy 1:3; 2 Timothy 1, 18; 4:12; Rev. 1.11, 2.1, 3.Ökumenische council meeting), one of the most important archaeological sites of the Greco-Roman era. Here we visit the beautifully preserved marble streets, the Celsus Library, the theater and the agora. Then we make a visit to the Basilica of St. John to the tomb of the apostle John and a visit to the Nightingale Marienhausen hill for devotions.
Day 8 Departure
Transfer to the airport to Izmir and flight back to your home country.
